When Is It my Turn

My boss, R, came back from a overseas trip today. And the 1st thing he sms is to say he will be on MC tomorrow because he got migrane and fever. Yah...right...as if I will believe.

I've been running a fever, cough and flu for a week already, but I dun even have a chance to take a day off work coz of the heavy workload for the past week.

Pui...managers...useless assholes. High pay yet useless.

Bad Luck...

Our office only consist of 2 people (excluding my boss, who is never around), me and T. And suay things always happen when 1 of us is not around.

Like there was once when I'm not around, T faced a network problem, which caused internet to be down, twice. And there was a time when many problems came at once, and he was so damn irritated. Last Friday when he was on leave, all our phones went dead for 3/4 of the day...and Singtel said it's the fault of one of the cable. All 3 phones were eventually diverted to my handphone.

Yesterday T went on course. And guess what, I went into the office, then decided to go to the warehouse, and I locked the door without thinking. While on my way back up from the warehouse, I realise I left my keys inside the now-locked office. Great...no spare keys...boss is out of town, T is far far away attending his course. Went to get help from the warehouse people, and a big operation began. Luckily, he managed to get it open rather soon.

Okok, can't blame me, coz I was running a high fever, but have to report to work because there is no one in the office. So I was in a daze mode the moment I woke up. I always knew this will happen, coz I always forgot about my keys, but usually there's T as back-up. But it's really damn suay that the worst of the worst happened when no one is around.

The Duty Phone...

From Day 1 I joined my company, I know there is this 24-hour duty phone where people from around the world can call anytime in the case of emergency or enquries. I'm not sure how the phone looks like and who was holding it all the time though. But I always got a perception that it's something which looks like a PDA.

Starting this month, there is duty roster for this duty phone. 4 people are selected to rotate their duties to hold on to this phone. I'm 1 of them. This week is supposed to be my boss, R, duty. And next week is mine. But as he is out of town for this week, I have to cover his duty, which means 2 weeks of standby.

Went to collect this mysterious duty phone from my colleague who finished his duty today. And the phone looks like this...



Disappointment...but it's gonna be my baby for the next 2 weeks.

1 Year Anniversary...

After all the obstacles, late night OTs, irritating bosses...I'm proud to announce my 1 year anniversary with J.Martens today! Life now compared to when I first started out is so different. I think I can say that I'm in a more relaxed working environment...where I can surf web and do my school work at times (it's impossible previously when I 1st joined).

To celebrate this occasion and praise myself for being a good and loyal employee for the past year, I gave myself a day off from school and work today. The feeling is great...no study, no reading of co. email. It's been a long time since I did that.

The Wedding Dinner of the Year...

I think this year is a good year to get married.

Attended my 4th wedding dinner for the year yesterday, and guess who got married this time...Charayu!

The feeling is very very different from the previous ones. Dunno why...just feel very weird. We knew each other for about 8 years, and at that time, I think we were all not even 20 yet. Then somehow we formed the Chicken Tribe, which thinking back, is a damn funny name. Forgot who came up with this name, but I've got a feeling is Bun Chia. We were all very young then, and rather fun and childish. Hahaha ~ but good memories.

We worked as part-timers in iDA, and after we left, we kept in contact, and meet up once in a few months...so from fun teenagers to seeing her get married, the feeling is funny. Hahaha ~ not sure how to describe it too. Maybe I'm still not used to seeing my friends around me starting to get married.

But I'm really really very happy for her, who found her Prince Jay (as she put it). And I think she's happy that she got to hold her wedding at Fullerton, which I think is what she was hoping for. Hahaha ~

Dinner was great too, although I only know Doris at my table. Haha ~

Retribution 2

I think I have talked too much on slacking at work, and retribution has just re-visited .

Been so damn busy for the past 2 weeks at work, courses and pending issues at work. And adding to that, school work is piling. Dissertation which needs to be completed by early next month, new and last semester starts - which means new assignments.

Yawn...boring...

Went to watch 张韶涵 -《百变张韶涵》世界巡回演唱会2008 today. 1st time bought so expensive tix for a concert, and she's not one of those whom I really listen to anyway.

It's quite a great performance though, minus those fast tracks. Maybe she's just back from her "sick leave", or maybe it's just not her to dance, so it's quite awkard when she's...dancing. And the segment on choosing a "fan" from the audience to sing a rap song with her, it's so fake. That "fan" re-appeared on the screen which showed her performance in Taiwan. Hahaha ~ loophole.
