Customer = Free Good Food

Ever since I started working, I've always been in a vendor's position. Have to bow to customers, endure their yakking and keeping a good customer service attitude.

All these changed after I joined my current company. I'm now in a customer position. I get to scold the vendors (being a nice guy, of coz I dun do it even I have the rights to), passing down stupid rules that makes no sense but they have no choice but to follow, and of coz being treated better than ever.

And the best comes during festive seasons.

Like Christmas, we will have cards, logcakes etc.
Like New Year, we will have free organizers, calenders etc.
Like Lunar New Year, we will have bak gwa, red packets, cards, etc.

And this Lunar New Year, I've the honour to join in a couple of lunch hosted by our vendors. They called it the "Lo-Hei Lunch Session". I actually hate it, coz my boss will be there, and usually the vendor's MD will be there as well. So it's like a corporate lunch, and I felt like I'm working even at lunchtime. But usually, I'll just keep quiet throughout the meal, hearing the higher level people talk about business stuffs, and seeing how vendors suck up to us.

And of coz, there will be the infamous "management jokes", which I, till now, do not understand what's so funny about the jokes made by management level people that everyone can laugh their heads off. I think it's just fake laughs, but who cares.

I went to 3 corporate lunch for the last 2 weeks, and I didn't expect it to be that expensive:

1. Vendor 1 - Lunch at Seafood International @ East Coast. I didn't know how much it cost, but it's a buffet seafood lunch. And I do not think it's gonna be cheap.
2. Vendor 2 - Lunch at New Majestic Hotel @ Chinatown. The best lunch ever. I'm so full from my breakfast, but I actually stuffed everything into my stomach anyway. It costed a whooping S$780.00 for 9 people.
3. Vendor 3 - Lunch at Pu Tien @ Parkway Parade. The worst lunch ever. The food sucks, but I think out of courtesy sake, everyone was saying it's nice. And it cost S$688.00 for 10 people.
   
   

Reshuffle, Reorganize

My ex-boss sitting beside me was sacked. Now my current boss is leaving. VP having headache because 2 big holes waiting to be filled.

We are gonna have a big reorganization and reshuffling.

Bo bi bo bi I dun report to BB.

On an unrelated note, I just wonder why Feb & Mar are passing so damn bloody slow!!!!

Mark it Down!

15th & 16th March...mark that date down, coz I'm going for Lasik!

After the 2nd assessment, I was given the all clear to proceed with the surgery even though:

1. I was told fixing the eyesight doesn't improve retina. Thinning of retina plays a big part with how bad your eyesight is. With 900 degrees per eye, the retina specialist says even though I enhance my eyesight, my eye is still a 900 degrees eye. But she said it's normal for thin retina, and Lasik doesn't affect it.
2. I was told there is a high chance I won't get a perfect eyesight. The higher the degree of your eyes, the higher chance you won't get a perfect eyesight. But I believe I can do away with specs & contact lenses at least.
   
3. I was told I can't do any enhancements after my surgery even though I'm entitled to 2 free enhancements. Coz the higher the degree, the thicker your cornea must be. For me, my thickness is just nice for my lasik. So I have no more "free cornea space" to do another surgery.

And because of my poor eyesight, I requested to do both eyes at the same time. If not, I'll be blind in 1 eye while waiting for the next surgery. I can't wear specs, I can't wear contacts. But my doctor assured me I will be fine with using the corrected eye while waiting for the surgery on the 2nd eye. Also, he told me by doing it on different days, he can check the 1st operated eye and improve it for the 2nd eye. Ok, that makes sense too.

So...I'm doing my left eye (which is not my master eye) on 15th Mar, and my right eye (my master eye) on 16th Mar.
